Features & Benefits

Why S.E.A.L.

Features and benefits

The biggest danger to tyres is excess heat, usually from under-inflation. That heat softens rubber and makes punctures more likely. S.E.A.L. helps tyres hold pressure and stay cooler in heavy-duty use.

  • Extend tyre life: Reduces the main driver of failure—heat from running under-inflated—so tread and casing last longer in the field.
  • Broad leak protection: Seals many tread-area punctures (typically 5mm–8mm tubeless, 3mm–5mm tube-type) and helps stop leaks from valves, O-rings, porosity, vent holes, and poor repairs.
  • Climate resilient: Glycol-based formulation supports cold-start behaviour and remains stable within the product’s rated operating temperature range (see technical specifications).
  • Stays active: Will not dry out for the service life of the tyre while installed correctly.
  • Safe for equipment: Will not rust rims; casing and retread compatibility are maintained when the product is water-soluble removed as directed.

Technical specifications

Key physical properties for S.E.A.L. Full quantity and application detail is also on the Specifications page.

  • Appearance: Viscous green fibre and filler mixture in colloidal suspension.
  • Operating temperature: Effective from -50°C to +150°C (rim conditions may occasionally exceed this—monitor rims when starting tubeless use).
  • Boiling point: In excess of +188°C at 100 PSI. Rated maximum operating temperature +150°C.
  • Freeze point: -56°C at 100 PSI.
  • Specific gravity: 1.1
  • pH: 7.6
  • Solubility: Water soluble for removal before retread or repair.
  • Packaging: 5l, 10l & 20l containers.
  • Typical installation: 10 litre 6 bar steel applicator or 500ml plastic syringe; inject through valve stem after core removal, or pour using a split-bead method (see the installation guide on Info).
  • Service life in tyre: Active for the service life of the tyre tread when used as directed.
  • Retreadability: Not affected after S.E.A.L. is removed with water; reinstall after retreading as required.
  • Tyre materials: Not adversely affected under normal approved use.

Balancing and performance

  • S.E.A.L. can hydrodynamically balance highway truck tyres; liquid balancing is a proven approach when conditions suit it.
  • Because S.E.A.L. stays liquid, it can shift as the tyre wears or as load and road conditions change—supporting even wear and ride quality.
  • Do not dilute with water. Excess talc, foreign objects, or water inside the tyre can harm balancing and performance.
  • Keep investigating mechanical issues: out-of-round tyres or rims, excessive lateral run-out, shifted belting, tread separation, or a creased tube can upset balance—correct these before relying on sealant alone.
  • Ensure correct wheel alignment (e.g. toe-in set to specification for radial tyres) and rule out mechanical faults; sealant does not fix underlying suspension or geometry problems.
  • Not recommended for high-speed passenger vehicles (LDV or SUV).

Safety and compliance

Material safety reference: production code 2016 – Rev 010, product identity S.E.A.L.

Handling and health

Contains ethylene glycol (MEG). Toxic if swallowed; can irritate eyes and skin. Wash hands and skin after contact. Do not ingest. Practice good industrial hygiene and train operators on this sheet.

  • Fire / explosion: Not flammable under normal conditions.
  • Oral: Toxic (MEG)—seek medical advice immediately if swallowed.
  • Dermal / eyes: Skin irritant; toxic to eyes. Avoid splash; wash after use.

First aid

  • Eyes: Flush with water.
  • Skin: Flush with water.
  • Inhalation: Move to fresh air.
  • Ingestion: Contact a medical professional regarding ethylene glycol ingestion; drink water as directed.

Spillage, wildlife, and disposal

The product has a sweet taste—keep away from people and animals. Cover spills on soil with sand or sawdust and dispose of per local rules. Do not leave pooled product where animals can access it.

Reactivity

Concurrent presence of powerful oxidants and very high heat may produce carbon monoxide—avoid incompatible conditions.

Equipment notes

S.E.A.L. includes corrosion inhibitors and is formulated not to harm tyres or rims when used as directed. When first using sealant in tubeless tyres, check rim condition periodically.
